ABOUT THE AUTHOR:
Suzan lives in the midwest with her handsome carpenter husband and the last of their 4 children - a 15 year old, 6'3", built-like-a-linebacker son. They are currently accepting monetary donations in order to feed him and keep in in shoes.
Being married to a carpenter translates to living in a perpetual state of remodel.
Being an author with a vivid imagination helps Suzan cope with the perpetual remodel.
Suzan has been writing since childhood. She self-published her first novel, Laiden's Daughter, in December of 2011. It started thusly:
I wanted to give my mom a kindle for her birthday. I thought it would be really cool if when when she opened it, the first book she'd see would be mine. I shared this idea with my husband. Now, my husband is nothing short of a research genius/force-to-be-reckoned-with. He did the research about self-publishing and didn't quite share all the information with me. He told me that I could just put the 'book' on the kindle, I had to publish it.
So I published it December thinking it would be cool if I sold ten copies. By the end of February, 2012 Laiden's Daughter had reached number 3 on Amazon's Top 100 Best Sellers List. To say the least, I was stunned. That month I sold over 8,000 copies of my first book. Wow. It has been the most amazing experience of my life.
I released my second book, Findley's Lass, Book Two of The Clan MacDougall Series in September 2012. In October of 2012 I was able to give up my day job to write full time. I haven't looked back. I released Wee William's Woman in March of 2013. All three of my books are on Amazon's Top 100 Best Sellers List and I am one of Amazon's Top 100 Best Selling Authors.
I didn't set out to sell 10,000 copies a month or to get on any best sellers lists. I am blessed beyond all human comprehension and am enjoying every moment!
